# How Fransys bills

> Credits used by the hour, with no subscription. What you pay, where to see it, and your invoices.

Source: https://docs.fransys.cloud/en/budget/comment-fransys-facture/ Checked against the console on 2026-10-23.

## Credits, no subscription

You buy credits: 1 credit = €1. They're used as you go, by the hour, while machines are running. Nothing running, nothing used.

You top up whenever you like, or you turn on automatic payment. See [Credits and automatic payment](https://docs.fransys.cloud/en/budget/credits-et-paiement-automatique/).

## What you pay

- **The machines at the hosting provider's price**, when the cluster runs on the Fransys account. On your own cloud account, the provider bills you directly.
- **The Fransys share**: based on the machines' CPUs, memory and GPUs, plus the load balancer, IP addresses, volumes, backups, logs and metrics.

The breakdown, item by item: [Pricing](https://docs.fransys.cloud/en/budget/grille-tarifaire/).

Before any cluster is created, the console shows the monthly cost. A billing month counts 730 hours.

## The Budget page

At the top, four figures:
- **Credits left**, out of the balance at the start of the period;
- **Used** since the start of the period;
- **Current rate, per month**, with the amount per day and per hour;
- **End of period, at the current rate**.

Then a sentence that says how long your credits will last, and what happens next. See [Never get shut down](https://docs.fransys.cloud/en/budget/ne-jamais-etre-coupe/).

## Where your money goes

The **Where your money goes** section breaks spending down by cluster, then by billed resource (servers, load balancer, IP addresses, volumes): since when it has been running, what it has used, and its price if it runs all month. **Export as CSV** gives the same table.

## Invoices and statements

- **An invoice for each top-up** of credits.
- **A usage statement** at the end of each period.

They're in **Invoices and statements**, as PDFs. Your **billing details** (name or company name, address, country, VAT number) appear on them; the country sets the VAT applied.
