# Limits and timings

## How long

| Creating a cluster (machines, then Kubernetes) | Up to 15 minutes, then a few minutes **Degraded** |
| A cluster that won't start | Flagged after 25 minutes |
| Preparing a new service (its settings) | One to two minutes |
| Recalculating settings after a choice | A few seconds |
| A service that won't start | Flagged after 15 minutes |
| Activating an agent key | 10 to 15 seconds |
| Importing a commit after a push | The time the pipeline takes; after 10 minutes, see [Latest commit not imported](https://docs.fransys.cloud/en/projets/github-gitlab/#latest-commit-not-imported) |
| A DNS record taking effect | Up to a few hours |

| Service health checks | Every minute |
| Metrics on a project's diagram | Last hour, refreshed every 30 seconds |
| Credit usage | By the hour, while machines are running |
| A billing month | 730 hours |

## Formats

| Field | Format |
|---|---|
| Project or cluster name | 30 characters at most |
| Domain | Full name, without `https://` or a path: `app.your-domain.com` |
| Environment variable | `NAME=value`; names are converted to upper case on import |
| Cron expression | 5 fields: minute, hour, day of month, month, day of week |
| Account password | At least 8 characters |
| PromQL query (`query_metrics` tool) | 1,000 characters at most, filtered on one cluster |
